John Krish

John Krish was a talented director, writer and filmmaker. He had a flair for shorts, including public information films, making infamous fillers such as Searching (1974) and the controversial The Finishing Line (1977). He started out with the Crown Film Unit in the 1940s and some time working with Richard Massingham.

For the next several decades he worked with charities, for government organisations, the prison service and multiple other organisations on films. He wasn’t afraid to make a stir, with the banning of four of his films. It was clear to see he was dedicated to his work, but he also had time for family. He is survived by his three children and nine grandchildren.

John Jeffrey Krish was born 4th December 1923 and died 7th May 2016.
