Aardman Animations was registered in 1972 by Peter Lord and David Sproxton. Their first film came out in 1976, featuring Morph, a little Plasticine man. Since that first animation, Aardman has made eight feature films and over 50 short films (as of the time of writing).

One more short film has recently been added to their portfolio, their latest production called Home. Home is a film made in collaboration with Save the Children, released one year after the start of the war in Ukraine. It tells the tale of a refugee child and their family, the struggles they face and their eventual settling in. With the use of shape and colour to represent the refugees (orange circles) and the community (purple triangles) they move into, we see the orange circles are helped to overcome the difficulties of a strange new town, and eventually they settle in, spreading orange through the town.

The message at the end is simple. “Together we can shape a brighter world that’s home to everyone”. And Aardman has done a brilliant job portraying just how making the world “home to everyone” is done.
